Top 5: Love the Rainy Season

It's been raining like crazy the whole month it seems. I exaggerate ofcourse, but it's been awhile since we last saw some sunshine. Oh the monsoon season.. And it's only August! Hopefully this is the worst of it.

When I was still in school I used to love it when it rained. Back then a little rain makes a puddle, not an ankle-deep flood. Heavy rains made for knee-deep floods but people didn't have to evacuate their homes for fear of flash floods. I'm not old enough to be saying " back then.." but the weather has changed so drastically that yes, my "back then" is totally different from what it is now. But I still remember the reasons why I love the rainy season because it hasn't really been that long ago.

My reason Number One
Because there was a 50-50 percent chance of getting stuck under the same shed with my crush. Being in such close proximity to that person without looking suspicious? Admit it, the rain's always a great excuse to get close to the one you love.

Reason Number Two:
With a cup of coffee or cocoa, a good book and a warm bed. 'Nuff said.

Reason Number Three:
No excuses for being a couch potato.DVD Marathon+loads of food. A great way to catch up on those T.V. series that you keep missing and bingeing on comfort foods. Champorado anyone?

Reason Number Four:
Crafting. Yes, although now I do this on a daily basis, there was a time when I wasn't.. So being stuck at home, restless and yet couldn't get out of the house, I turned to crafting whatever scraps I had hoarded.

Reason Number Five:
Sleep! Living in the tropics, cold weather from time to time is much appreciated. Snuggling in your warm bed under that thick blanket with a good book, until you feel your eyes get heavy and your eyelids close and you just have to drop that book of yours because it's time for some serious hibernation.

And those are my Top 5 reasons why I love the Rainy Season! And I'm grateful that I still get to do most of these things today ;D

Start Off With These Chinese & Taiwanese Dramas

Even before Kdramas, I was already so into Hong Kong movies that I remember writing all the movies I’ve seen on a notebook, which I’ve since lost. Jackie Chan & Jet Li movies were faves, but Star Movies Chinese introduced me to so many others. After watching Gen-X Cops, I fell in love with the gorgeous actors and I’d see anything with Stephen Fung, Nicolas Tse, and Daniel Wu that was on, even ones without subtitles! Oh and also Takeshi Kaneshiro! But at some point, I couldn’t access Star Movies Chinese anymore. I don’t remember exactly if they became unavailable in our country or you had to pay extra for that channel. Whatever it was, it ended my love affair with Hong Kong Movies. Which is okay in a way, since I got too busy with life anyway. And then  Meteor Garden  happened. They showed it on a local channel and was Filipino dubbed. After that blew up, local channels started showing dubbed Taiwanese dramas. But it wasn’t easy to follow the series since it was on at aroun...

Bead Bangle

You may be wondering why I would give away this pattern for free when I can sell it. Well,  I'm really not so good with giving (and taking) written instructions. So to be fair, I only sell patterns that I can give accurate instructions on.  I rely mostly on pictures, I find them easier to follow. So hopefully the images I included helps too if my written instructions become too confusing. I had to use a dark background so the threads would show.  1.       Start with the basic netting technique. String in 147 pieces of seed beads. Pass the thread through the 6th bead from the last. 2.      String 5 beads then pass through the sixth bead from the previous row, repeat to the end. 3.      Leave 6 beads at the tail. String 8 beads then pass thread through fourth bead from previous row. Repeat until you have a total of 9 rows. 4.      String 8 beads then pass the thread through the 6th ...

JASPER - The Supreme Nurturer

BIRTHMONTH: March From the Greek word iaspi meaning “spotted stone”. Considered as a powerful healing stone that gives a sense of well-being and enables one to be more present in the physical body and conscious of Nature and one’s surroundings. Believed to protect and absorb negative energy. Brecciated Jasper from  https://www.crystalhealingforwomen.com/brecciated-jasper-bracelet/ LEGENDS & MYTHS  According to Norse legend, the magic sword of Siegfried the dragon slayer was inlaid with this gemstone. Egyptians believed the stone to be associated with Isis and was carved into amulets for the dead. There is also speculation it was actually red jasper (not ruby) that adorned the sacred breastplate of Aaron. ABOUT THE STONE Jasper is an opaque rock of virtually any color stemming from the mineral content of the original sediments or ash. Patterns arise during the consolidation process forming flow and depositional patterns in the original silica rich sediment or vol...
