Another one of those books that I almost didn't read because of the cover. Thank God the bookworm in me fought to read this. The cover isn't appealing but the story is actually quite good. I may be a bit biased about books from England just because I don't understand some of the words and expressions. And I have this unconscious irritating habit of reading in my mind with a British accent. It can get very tiring. Good thing that I opened this book without knowing where the setting was.
Emma is not the typical character you'd expect from a book that's premise is an abandoned bride to be. The author didn't waste precious pages with breakdowns and whiny rants. There are flashbacks to keep you guessing what they had in connection to the present. Some characters were made out like they had things to hide. And mostly they do. Everything just isn't the way they seem and you'll find yourself losing sleep trying to finish this book because you just had to know if your suspicions were right.
VERDICT: READ IT!
